On the occasion of your participation in RTU International Week, we are delighted to introduce you with other international events taking place at the Riga Technical University this summer:

·         International Summer School “Nonlinear Life. Edition 2”

·         International Summer School “Sustainable Construction – from Traditions to Innovations”

We will be grateful for your contribution in sharing this information among your students.

International Summer School “Nonlinear Life” is inviting your students from various fields to come to Riga, engineer a Nonlinear Life by meeting 25 professors coming from 9 countries:         

Drawing on actual tendencies in the landscape of global higher education sector, occurrence of interdisciplinary fields is caused by the latest developments in the field of innovative technologies and their wide implementation into practice. The purpose of the summer school, is to contribute to the education process of preparation of interdisciplinary experts who can implement the development of hi-tech production necessary to increase competitiveness.

The summer school will assemble scientists from three various fields: experimental and theoretical dynamics of nonlinear systems, medical engineering and physics. In this respect the convergence of sciences will become the key approach to deliver the knowledge by the school. The school participants will be get the experience to extend their knowledge from the specific one related to their education at the home university to the widening modern knowledge area overlapping nonlinear processes connecting life and engineering.

Your students’ journey within this summer school will lead them through the following fields: Fusion of radiology, cardiology, medical engineering and physics; Formalization of the nonlinear phenomena; Structural biology and genetics; Nanotechnologies and nanomaterials; Nanomedicine; Biomaterials; Surface phenomena; Nonlinear optical and electrical processes by/for bio-objects.

The participation fee is EUR 700. Based on the evaluation of the application documents, participant with the most outstanding results will receive a discount for covering participation fee.

Riga Technical University , University of Salerno  and enterprise “Knauf Latvia” have put together intelectual forces, in order to produce something really special from the international engagement, interdisciplinarity and technology transfer standpoint.

As an outcome of this cooperation is invitation to your students to engineer their international experience by joining the International Summer School “Sustainable Construction – from Traditions to Innovations”.

During 12 days of intensive learning and cooperation between various disciplines in international environment students will gain in-depth knowledge in building materials and structures, architecture and physics. As an outcome of implementing that kind of activity, we see significant contribution to the preparation of interdisciplinary experts who will can implement the development of hi-tech production necessary to increase global competitiveness in the field of sustainable construction and its wide implementation into practice.  

Within the summer school your students will attend lectures of scientists in the fields of civil engineering, architecture and physics as well as will visit several enterprises and construction projects, for example, National Library of Latvia, ongoing projects in RTU Campus and industrial enterprises like “Knauf” and Latvian Wood Construction Cluster.

In addition, your students will be a part of interdisciplinary team which will be formed to work with projects. Informal discussions will be held about the modern issues of formation in the field of sustainable construction, civil engineering and physics.
