Our University visited by Xi'an Northwest University

 

 

Visit from Xi'an Northwest University, Republic of China, to Our Department Sait Şahin, a faculty member from Xi'an Northwest University's Middle East Research Center and Silk Road Research Institute in the Republic of China, visited our university's International Relations Office to foster academic collaboration in Turkey. During the visit, he engaged in discussions with our Department Head, Prof. Dr. M. Said Kurşunoğlu, and Erasmus Institution Coordinator, Dr. Assistant Professor Mehmet Tütüncü.


  An agreement was reached on various academic collaboration aspects between the two esteemed state universities as part of the agreement to expand connections with China. Notably, agreements were made regarding student and faculty exchange programs, specifically in the fields of Medicine, Archaeology, and International Relations. Collaboration areas related to Ondokuz Mayıs University's Erasmus programs and cooperation in admitting Chinese students to the TÖMER Turkish Language Teaching Center were also outlined.


  Symbolic gifts representing the universities were exchanged during the visit. Additionally, Sait Şahin, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkey-China Businessmen Friendship and Solidarity Association (TÜÇİAD), emphasized the ongoing commitment of the association to advancing China-Turkey relations. He commended Ondokuz Mayıs University for its leading role in regional research and development activities within the industrial sector, particularly within the Technopark, highlighting the remarkable and promising nature of their work.


  Şahin underscored the significant role of official and civil organizations in achieving our country's strategic goals within the realms of commerce, education, culture, and politics. Furthermore, he shared that efforts are actively underway to enhance Samsun's participation in trade with China, recognizing it as the largest city in the Black Sea region.
